Sunday Stellenbosch street markets, specifically the one on Dorp Street, have become sort of an obsession. If I could pick one thing that is a never-ending source of inspiration for me, it would be street markets. Now combine that with thrifting, and I'm absolutely sold. Street markets are amazing for a number of reasons, but I suppose I love them specifically for their wholesome personal feel. Every booth you go to is a surprising wonder of artisanal crafts, sweet treats, mixed in with produce from passionate hobbyists who will give you all the tips on how to use that homemade recipe of soap, jam, or a scented candle.
The Dorp Street market is a particular love of mine for the choice of vintage and second-hand clothing. I could probably shop a whole wardrobe for how comparatively affordable and well-maintained those clothes are. I picked up this beautiful well worn and loved wool jacket for the coming colder months and the colors were matted enough to layer with colors of Autumn. The lovely bicylegirlclothing is a sweet sweet person who shares a passion for old, beautiful clothes.
Capsule wardrobes are a great way to know how to wear a particular stand-out piece of clothing with the rest of your wardrobe and it ensures that the item doesn't collect dust in the back. Here are a few ways I would style this jacket.
All outfits were worn with this pair of white Kangol sneakers that I will live in for days...
What are your thoughts on oversized trends for outwear? Do you capsule wardrode? Would you like to try it out? Let me know.
